Hungerford Town Band

Hungerford Town Band was mentioned as long ago as 1885 in 'The Hungerford and Malborough Times' as having played at sports events in the church croft. This band would have been very different from todays band which in it's earliest format was set up in 1911. Throughout the years the band has survived including the late 1960's a time which saw the demise of many local bands.

Under the leadership of the current Musical Director, Tim Crouter, the band has achieved a reputation as one of the leading Brass Bands in the region, having released two CDs intitled 'Time to remember' and more recently 'Evergreen.The band has achieved success on the contest stage as well, having qualified to enter the fourth section National Finals in 2002 and 2006. The band also competes in the Wessex Association contests annually and has achieved First Section status.
